Visit | Nox Hotel Galway

My home for the night was pretty amazing. I spent one night in one of Galway's newest and most trendiest hotel's The Nox Hotel . I stayed in a twin room with my friend who is also a fashion blogger, Shona from Sho Style. To say we were excited about the entire collaboration was an understatement. During the summer we had both attended a really cool event in the hotel so we had already experienced a piece of what the hotel had to offer but nothing in this world would have prepared us for what we were about to find out.

From the moment I arrived to the hotel on Thursday evening there was such a buzz and happy atmosphere. It was the night before the announcement of who would be the European Capital Of Culture so there was such excitement throughout the city. The lobby of the hotel has such a relaxing vibe and is a great place to meet friends for coffee or cocktails. It is open plan, spacious and airy. The seating areas are also organised really well, no matter how busy the hotel gets you wont feel like you are squashed into one little area or in anyone's way. There is also a beautiful seating area outside, the perfect location for a sunny day.

We didn't realize just how big the hotel was until we made our way to our room. We were on the fourth floor, which again was spacious and airy. The hallways have dark grey decor but are lit with spotlights which gives a really glamorous feel. On arrival to our rooms we were greeted with a welcome pack which included a bottle of processo, a refreshing fruit salad, luxury chocolates and my favourite brand of water Fior Uisce. All of which we really appreciated.

Our first impression of the room was just how clean it was. There was not one thing out of place and not a speck of dust to be found. The entire hotel was also extremely clean and smelt so fresh. Our room was spacious and modern. There was a double bed and a single bed both dreamy, crisp and white, we just sank right into them. I can honestly say the comfiest hotel bed I have ever slept in. The room had a large window so it was lovely and bright, there was a wide screen TV on the wall, a vanity area to do your make up or to catch up on some emails, plenty of storage space and of course a full length selfie mirror.

The bathroom was clean and chic. Filled with clean fluffy towels, hand wash, shampoo and conditioner. The shower was amazing. It was easy to use, set to the perfect temperature and had plenty of power. That evening we were feeling rather hungry so we decided to sample some bar food. The staff were extremely busy but still went out of there way to be kind and get us what ever we desired. I decided to have Caesar Salad. Which was so nice, probably one of the best I have had from a hotel.

The next morning we arose feeling extremely relaxed and refreshed. We both agreed that it was the best nights sleep we had in a long time. The hotel prides themselves as specializing in superior beds with cozy duvets. After we finished getting ready we went downstairs to the restaurant. It was a buffet breakfast which consisted of fresh orange juice, infused water, herbal teas, tea, coffee, full Irish breakfast, croissants and pancakes. I choose pancakes of course which were made with the hotels very own pancake machine.

Check out was at noon. So after we sadly packed our belongs we made our way downstairs to the hotel lobby. We spent an hour or so chatting and exploring the hotel before going for lunch in the hotel restaurant. Again there was so much choice on the lunch menu. I decided to try the Club Sandwich which consisted of grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise served on ciabatta bread with a side portion of chips and salad. It was delicious. We were then served Blueberry Mocktails which were so nice and very refreshing. We then went on to have dessert. We both decided on cheese cake. I opted for strawberry while Shona opted for lemon.

It was just before this that the announcement had been made that Galway was now Europe's Capital Of Culture. You can just imagine the excitement. Everyone was so excited and filled with joy. The chef was also thrilled with the results and decorated our cheesecakes by writing Galway 2020 in Nutella. The cheese cakes were light as air and so refreshing for after a meal.

The staff at The Nox Hotel were amazing, friendly, kind, helpful and willing to go out of their way to make sure you enjoyed every minute of your stay. A huge Thank You must be given to the amazing team for providing us with such a pleasant experience. I will definitely be visiting again soon.

Blogger Lunch At Bar Solo In The Connaught Hotel

On Sunday I had the pleasure to be invited to The Connacht Hotel for lunch with Cloda from the blog Orange Obviously and Shona from the blog Sho Style What a perfect way to spend a Sunday. It was the first bank holiday of the summer so there was such a good buzz in Galway. As soon as I arrived I felt so welcomed. It was so warm outside but the reception was lovely, airy and cool.

We got a warm welcome from the receptionists who kindly brought us to Bar Solo where we were greeted by one of the managers and staff members. Bar Solo is one of the best hotel bars in Galway and we were lucky enough to try out the new summer lunch menu. The bar is bright, spacious and has a really chilled atmosphere. The bar caters for everyone whatever your occasion, from dinner with small children, to a girly lunch with cocktails and with large screens  visible from all seating areas it is the perfect place to watch a match. They also offer live music at the weekends and offer Sky Sports and Setanta Channels throughout the summer.

With the new summer lunch menu you really are spoiled for choice. For starters I chose the Super Food salad which included seasonal leaves, feta cheese, sun blushed  tomatoes, quinoa, sunflowers seeds and grape oil. It was delicious. Everything was fresh with lots of different textures and flavors. The portion was quite large so I couldn't finish it but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

For my main course I decided to have Soy & Chili Vegetable Stir Fry which was an other winner in my  eyes. It was full with chunks of fresh vegetables such as pepper, celery, red onion and cucumber. You also got the choice of having chicken or tiger prawns. I opted for chicken, served on a bed of noodles. It was delicious. During our meal we were treated to some cocktails. I opted for the non alcoholic version which you can have any listed on the menu just without the alcohol. I couldn't resist trying a non alcoholic Mojito which consisted of lime, mint, lime juice, sugar syrup and tonic water. I loved it! Very refreshing after a meal.

Now for the best bit. We couldn't say no to a cheeky dessert. I had the Black Forest Gateaux which was light as air. Not what you would expect from gateaux which was such a nice surprise. After our lunch we sat and relaxed for a while enjoying the atmosphere of the bar. It is a really cool environment to be in and the staff are super chilled and friendly. I really enjoyed my experience in the bar and hotel and I can't wait to return!

Here's the menu if you would like a peek!

Eyre Cocktail Bar Launch Party

Like a scene from the infamous movie 'Sex In The City' 20 VIP bloggers and I were kindly invited by The Skeff Bar in collaboration with Into The West Blogger Network to attend the launch of their cocktail bar and very new menu - Eyre Cocktail Bar. Professional rugby player Jack Dinneen was the host for the night with special guest Suzanne Jackson who is not only one of Ireland's most successful leading bloggers but also named as number 16 in the world. As well as creating her own beauty line SOSU. I have followed Suzanne for the last five years and really admire her story and all she has accomplished. She is a very successful business woman and an inspiration to women no matter what field of work they are in.

The night began at 8pm where we got 'papped' in front of  The Skeff Bar photo board. I was greeted by Jack and some of the staff while Julia Dunin Photography  worked her magic. They made me feel so welcome from the moment I arrived. They directed me upstairs to Eyre Cocktail Bar where there was a VIP area reserved for us bloggers. Some of the ITWBN bloggers had already arrived so we had some major blogger chats, took lots of selfies and were the first to taste the 'So Sip Me' signature cocktails which Suzanne would mix on that night. From the moment we arrived we took social media by storm. With over 1 million tweets and instagram posts I'm sure #EyreCocktails made it into all of your feeds. The Skeff also had a tweet beam set up throughout the night where you could really see the impact we were having.

Later in the night Suzanne introduced the new cocktail 'So Sip Me' and mixed it herself with supervision from head mixologist Johnny. Suzanne then did a Q&A and gave us bloggers loads of tips on how to be more successful. The 'So Sip Me' cocktail was fresh and fruity made with vodka, creme de menthe, kiwi liqueur and a sweet mix blended with crushed ice. We were also served yummy canapes and sweet treats.

We were spoiled by all the staff from the moment we walked though the doors and to be honest its been like that every time I've been there. The staff never fail to disappoint. Thank you so much for having us and making us feel so welcome!

24 Hour fall city guide - Westport

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are having a lovely Sunday and are enjoying the long bank holiday weekend so far. Westport in Co. Mayo is the perfect getaway for a long weekend stay be that anytime of the year. Even though it is a well known spot for tourists it is just as appealing to locals and people living outside of Co. Mayo. The town has so much to offer for people of all ages.

The CastleCourt Hotel  in my opinion is the most well known hotel in Westport. It is a 4* hotel located in the the town on Castlebar Street just a five minute walk from all the shops, restaurants and bars. The CastleCourt Hotel is situated in its own grounds with its sister hotel Westport Plaza Hotel . There is the most beautiful courtyard surrounding both hotels which is perfect to sit back and relax out doors with a delicious coffee or a drink while the kids play. It is also the perfect place to take photos of your wedding day. The CastleCourt Hotel is the most popular wedding destination in Westport. If you've been here you will see why!

The resort also has a leisure center known as the C Club which has a 20 mtr heated indoor pool, a jacuzzi, a steam room and a gym. Perfect for getting your swim or workout in while you're away or some fun for the kids to burn off some energy. There is also a gorgeous spa - Spa Sula, perfect to relax and unwind in the luxurious settings. Carrying out a wide range of treatments for all your beauty and relaxation needs. There is also a number of different restaurants and late night bars in the hotel too. Castle Late Night Venue used to be a night club but is now a late night bar which has djs, and live bands. With its cool atmosphere it is the perfect place for a celebration. be that a birthday party, hen/stag party or just a Saturday night out!

I love both hotels and would highly recommend staying in this resort if you are staying in Westport. I think The CastleCourt Hotel is more wedding focused but the Westport Plaza Hotel is less formal but still has that luxurious feel to it. It is more modern then The CastleCourt but in both hotels you will get exceptional service and the perfect nights stay.

There is also a number of events that take place in The CastleCourt Hotel such a wedding fairs and business seminars. The next business seminar that is taking place is the Mayo Business Awards. This event is taking place on the 6th of November and all businesses across the country can enter. This is a brilliant event to promote your business and network with some of the top business people in the country. Tickets for the event can be purchase on EventBrite.

EventBrite  is the largest self-service online ticket company in the world helping people find and plan events. Check out the event management page here. It is a website and also an app available as a free download from the app store on IOS or in the play store on android. It is so easy to use and in my opinion the best app or website for booking tickets. Being a blogger I have to go to loads of events and I always use Eventbrite without fail to book them I downloaded the app on my phone so that when I book a ticket I don't need to print it out. I can save it in my EventBrite app or my passbook and just present it when at the event. Its simple! I would definitely recommend businesses to use it when planning and organizing events as it takes the pressure off and makes it easier for everyone.

So now that you have your hotel booked and know where to get your tickets from what are you going to do while you're here? Westport House is full of fun for all the family. With acres of land set amongst lush gardens and a Pirate Adventure Park, there is something to suit everybody. Walk through the grounds and rich mature wood lands or take a tour of Westport House where the legendary Pirate Queen of Connaught Grace O'Malley reigned here in one of her many castles. Even if this is something you aren't really interested in, I think you should go a see it a least once. Its really cool to see how they used to live. The grounds are orgeous to have walk through and a number of events are taking place throughout autumn and winter this year such as Halloween Fest and Winter Wonderland. There is also camping facilities and much much more which you can find out about here.

Westport Town

Westport town is full of unique boutique, cute cafes, old fashioned sweet shops and quirky restaurants, as well as traditional Irish pubs and shops.

Carraig Donn  is one of my favourite boutiques in Westport. Its clothing is usually for an older age group but as the store is progressing they are getting more brands in like Only and Vera Moda. They have a home decor department upstairs with traditional Irish pieces with a modern day twist. They also have a gorgeous jewellery collection carrying Ireland's largest jewellery brand  Newbridge Silverware.

Cutest Irish Bakery

Cutest Bookshop

Mocha Beans - Best Coffee!

Westport really does have such a variety of thing s to do. You will definitely need more that 24 hours in this little town. I couldn't even list all the shops and restaurants you need to visit. You really are spoiled for choice. A lot of people also come to Westport to climb Croagh Patrick and to walk, run or cycle the 'Green Way'. Croagh Patrick is a challenge but it is something really worth doing, you will feel such a sense of achievement once its completed and if you take your time and enjoy the journey you wont feel the time go by. The 'Green Way' is a scenic route around Westport with beautiful views which is the perfect excuse for getting you workouts in outdoors.

Have you ever been to Westport? If so what are your favourite spots? I'd love to know!

Until next time...

Yours stylishly
